The first day will be dedicated to considering today's neurosurgical best practice from the perspectives of quality, evidence and education.

During the second day, we will open the window to new challenges, unfamiliar perspectives and cutting edge developments in neuroscience, that will challenge and possibly change many of our established views.

We are also keen to offer a forum for as many colleagues as possible to present their work, and are therefore organising a number of “flash” sessions with short (3 minutes!) presentations in addition to the programme of invited speakers. We are seeking contributions to these sessions along the more classical and traditional lines: neurooncology, vascular neurosurgery, neuromodulation and spine.

The “EANS Annual Meeting 2010” will give participants the opportunity to appreciate the atmosphere of Groningen - a university city with a long history and famous museums, whose centre has been acclaimed the Netherlands "best city centre."

Groningen is connected to Schiphol Airport (Amsterdam) by a direct train link which runs every 30 minutes, with a travel time of little more than 2 hours.

The whole setting is ideal for making new and reinforcing old friendships, with a comprehensive social programme, which includes a cultural outing, a gala dinner, and a conference “café” every night with beverages and snacks. Hotels, conference venue and social events are all within walking distance of one another.
